Many thanks to everyone who contributed in any way to the bars we ran at the recent Belper Goes Green and the Eyes have it Music Festivals. Both bars were very successful, and in both cases the branch has been complimented on the way we ran them. However, looking ahead, Belper Goes Green is likely to be bi-annual, so no festival in 2027. Unfortunately The Eyes have it is not going to run again as attendance was well down on previous years.
Amber Valley CAMRA have been asked to run a bar at BELPER 250 ROCKS. The festival will be held at Belper Cricket Club from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th September 2026.
Our usual organisers are not available during this period so we are appealing to branch members to consider taking on a specific role at this festival. The roles and descriptions are listed below.
- For set-up and take-down we may need a van and driver.
- A logistics / site manager to supervise the transport and set-up.
- A cellar manager to look after the cellaring and cooling.
- A personnel manager – compiling a staffing form and processing the replies, staff management during the event should be easy given that the bar will be quite small.
- A beer order. I am prepared to do this, but please step forward if you fancy a try.
- Membership. We need to consider how this will be handled.
This event will be part of Belper 250 celebrations, and I am sure it will be enjoyable to work at or to attend as a customer. Please contact AVC Chair if any of the above appeals to you.
