Amber Valley Pub of the Year and Cider Pub of the Year 2027
Nominations and Judges Required
We need your help to compile a list of 8 pubs to go forward to our Pub of the Year Competition and 4 pubs to go forward to our Cider Pub of the Year Competition. You have from Saturday 7th November to Saturday 19th December 2026 to nominate from 2 TO 5 pubs in the Amber Valley Branch area for Pub of the Year, and 1 TO 3 pubs for Cider Pub of the Year. Pubs nominated for Pub of the Year must serve at least one Real Ale at all times, and pubs nominated for Cider Pub of the Year must serve at least one Real Cider or Perry on a regular basis. You don’t have to list the pubs in order of preference, but nominations for Pub of the Year must contain at least 2 pubs.
Please email your nominations to the Chairman along with your name and CAMRA membership number. You need to be a member of Amber Valley CAMRA to nominate.
On Sunday 20th December the nominations will be counted and the 8 pubs with the most nominations for Pub of the Year and the 4 pubs with the most nominations for Cider Pub of the Year will go forward to the two competitions which will be judged by volunteer CAMRA members from Monday 21st December through to Saturday 13th February 2027.
We would like to have as many judges as possible for each competition and, although they need to be members of CAMRA, they don’t have to be Amber Valley Branch members. If you would be interested or know someone else who would, please contact the Chairman for more information. You only have to commit to visiting each of the 8 Pub of the Year entrants and / or each of the 4 Cider Pub of the Year entrants once during the judging period and sending in your scoresheet(s) by email or post.
Forms listing the nominated pubs and the various categories to be judged, together with explanatory notes from CAMRA, will be sent to any member who volunteers to take part in the judging of either competition.
We thank you in anticipation for your input towards helping us to choose worthy winners for these prestigious Branch awards. The results of both competitions will be announced shortly after completion of judging. The winners and runners up for Pub of the Year, and winner of Cider Pub of the Year will be presented with a certificate, and the winners will go forward to next rounds of the National Pub of the Year and Cider Pub of the Year competitions, starting in March 2027.
Derbyshire Pub of the Year 2026
Many congratulations to the Dead Poets Inn, Holbrook which went on to win the competition for Derbyshire Pub of the Year. They have now also been awarded third place in East Midlands Pub of the Year.
Amber Valley Pub of the Year 2026
The winner and runner up for Pub of the Year will be presented with a certificate during March, and the winner will go forward to next rounds of the National Pub of the Year competition, starting in March 2026.
Amber Valley Pub of the Year 2025
The Amber Valley Pub of the Year 2025 winners are –
Winner – Dead Poets, Holbrook
Runner Up – Talbot, Ripley
Certificates were awarded during March, the winner went forward to the next round and came 3rd in South Derbyshire.
